Leftover Alpha 1 Blueprints

Almost all of Alpha 1's objects are still in Alpha 2's files.

BP_Nail_puller

Old art-style hammer.

BP_OutDoors

Elevator doors from Alpha 1.

BP_Floors

Elevator from Alpha 1. Crashes the game.

BP_Shark

Sharkotron from Alpha 1. Stationary and no longer works.

BP_Water

The Sharkotron's water from Alpha 1. Crashes the game.

BP_BANAN

Alpha 1's banana. Different from the used one in the sense that you can slip on it (so can the Neighbor).

BP_Perforator

Jackhammer from Alpha 1, still works.

BP_Wall

Brick wall from Alpha 1, still works.

Animations

Restart Animations

Caught Animation

The Neighbor was going to always catch the player using the Prototype - Alpha 1 animation, which is present in Alpha 2 and may rarely be used by the Neighbor when he opens the white wardrobe down the entrance hall of his house.[citation needed]

Blueprints

BP_Spider

Spawns as a banana. According to the Mod Kit, it was supposed to hiss at you, alerting the Neighbor to your position.

BP_Crow

Unspawnable version of BP_Spider.

BP_Stereo

Used in Alpha 1.5, the stereo was going to be like the television, turn it on, and it distracts the Neighbor.

Basement

The basement was implemented in Alpha 2, but only one room is accessible and touching the slightly open door ends the game with a "HELLONEIGHBORGAME.COM" message. Using cheats allows accessing an expanded version of the basement (which can be seen in the basement gameplay trailer below).

Within the basement are paintings from Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1 not present anywhere else in Alpha 2, and old leftover models from Alpha 1.5 such as a television and stereo speaker.

Mechanics

Placing Bucket on Doors

A bucket in Alpha 2 can be placed on the handles of doors, much like propping up chairs, though placing a bucket on a door will not block it.

0

0 is a secret button that can be inserted in the game without using the console commands. It changes the Neighbor mode both idle and hunt mode. When during idle mode, the player is invisible to the neighbor but still get caught only if you bump into him.

Maps

Neighbor_3 Test House

OceanWater_Example

A different version of the LakeWater_Example, different rock positions and aggressive looking water that has no collusion, so you fall forever.

A Screenshot of TranslucentWater_Example.

TranslucentWater_Example

The same test maps above, but with different rock placements and an almost transparent water in the middle.

Objects

Paintings

An unused set of five paintings can be found in Alpha 2's files. These paintings probably only had a decorative intent due to their framing.

Spider Web

An unused spider web can be found in Alpha 2's files. It is most likely associated with BP_Spider.

Tumbleweed

An unused tumbleweed model can be found in Alpha 2's files.

Cacti

Three different unused cacti models can be found in Alpha 2's files.

Chairs

Two unused chair models can be found in Alpha 2's files. They are wooden and painted red. One has a broken leg. An unused rocking chair can also be found in Alpha 2's files.

Doors

The white and red doors physically appeared in Alpha 1.5. All four door models are present in Alpha 2's files.

Old Art Style Glue

The old art style glue model can be found in Alpha 2's files and in the Neighbor_3 test house. It is an early model of the jar of glue in Alpha 3 and onwards.

Old Art Style Television

An old art style television can be found in the basement.

Old Art Style Small Table

Another object only ever used in Alpha 1.5. Present in Alpha 2's files.

Old Art Style Night Pot

The pot itself can only be found in the Neighbor_3 test house amongst other objects. The lid for the pot can be physically found in Alpha 2 during the introduction/tutorial.

Old Art Style Keycard Terminal

Used in Alpha 1.5 and the Early Alpha 2 seen in the basement teaser trailer.

TV Remote

A basic and untextured TV remote model can be found in Alpha 2's files.

Sharkotron Icon

Shark-HNIcon.png

In the files of Alpha 2 exists an unused icon for the Sharkotron seen in Alpha 2, implying at one point in time the Sharkotron would return and could be picked up as an object (or even be picked up in the first alpha).

Pause Menu

A "hidden" pause menu can be discovered by pressing the M key while in-game. It is written in Russian. The menu has little functionality, as the mouse is invisible and the keyboard commands do not work. Only the first and third menu options work properly as they translate to "Continue" and "Save and Quit".
