Keycard Terminal
The Keycard Terminal is an important object in Hello Neighbor and Secret Neighbor.
Appearances
The keycard terminal first appeared in the unreleased Alpha 1.5 build, but Alpha 2 was the first public build to feature it. It then returned in all next builds of Hello Neighbor including Act 3 of the full game.
History
Hello Neighbor
In Act 3, the keycard terminal acts as a locking mechanism for the basement door. In order to unlock it, the player needs to insert the keycard into it. The terminal gives off a small amount of light. The color of the light depends on it's state (red when locked and green when unlocked).
Secret Neighbor
In Secret Neighbor, the appearance of the keycard terminal was changed slightly. The insert for the keycard is at the bottom of the terminal, and a small screen with a number appears. The number on the screen depends on the floor and place where the door with a keycard terminal is located (No. 1 is located within the second floor; No. 2 and No. 3 are located within the third and fourth floors). The player must use a keycard with the same number that is displayed on the screen. The keycard terminal is mounted onto all armoured doors in different parts of the house.
