The Flashlight is an important object in the Hello Neighbor series.

Description

Hello Neighbor

In Hello Neighbor, the flashlight is necessary for lighting dark spaces.

The flashlight can be turned on when it is in Nicky Roth's inventory. Pressing the LMB will turn on the flashlight. It's the same on and off.

From Pre-Alpha to Alpha 4, it looks like a mid-sized flashlight with a yellow body and a black switch on the side. There is an LED in front. The partition and reflector are black. At the back are two thin black stripes.

The appearance of the flashlight was changed in Beta 1. Now the switch has the appearance of a red elongated button, the body is black. Only in front and at the end of the handle are silver elements. Now the partition and black reflector have a more disproportionate appearance.

In Alpha 1.5, Mr. Peterson chases Nicky Roth in the basement with a flashlight in his hand. Alpha 2 does not have this feature.

With Alpha 4, Mr. Peterson has the ability to use a flashlight so he can easily see at night.

Hello Guest Prototype

In the Hello Guest Prototype, the flashlight is completely red. It has the same shape as the Hello Neighbor version.

When using the flashlight, the vandals notice the player from a greater distance. If you turn on the flashlight in front of The Guest, he will run away from you.

Now it can discharge. In this case, you either need to recharge it, insert a battery, or buy a new flashlight.

Hello Guest Alpha 1

In Hello Guest Alpha 1, the appearance of the flashlight was changed. Now it looks like a large heavy duty flashlight.

Hello Neighbor 2

Pre-Patch #9

In Hello Neighbor 2, the appearance of the flashlight was once again changed. It is still the large, heavy-duty flashlight from Hello Guest, but now the body is yellow, the front and end of the flashlight are black, the handle is gray, and a part of the handle has been changed to red. The flashlight is an unused item, and it can only be accessed via hacks. The grabbing animation for the flashlight had clipping, the textures of the flashlight bugged out if you turned the flashlight on, and the flashlight didn't have a sound effect for turning on or off.

Patch #9

In Hello Neighbor 2 Patch #9, the flashlight's new design was revamped. The red part of the handle was removed, the handle was changed, a display and a wire connected to it were added to the body of the flashlight, and a new part was added to the front of the flashlight. A proper grabbing animation for the flashlight was added in Patch #9, and the textures' bug was mostly fixed (the only textures that bug out now are the front textures), but the flashlight still doesn't have a sound effect for turning on or off. The flashlight is still unused and only accessible via hacks, but it might become an actual item in a future update.

  • Unlike in real life, flashlights can be used infinitely, as the batteries never run out.
