The Hello Neighbor 2 Beta is the closed beta for Hello Neighbor 2 that was released on April 7, 2022. It initially came with a Pre-Order of Hello Neighbor 2 (or its Deluxe Edition) on any platform.

The beta was announced during an Xbox Showcase Livestream on December 10th, 2021.

Walkthrough

After the tutorial, the player ends up at their main location, the Raven Brooks Banner. This early on in the Beta, the player cannot walk to many areas yet, as the Guest will catch and send them back to the starting point. Whatever location is emphasized, by cutscenes or in-game events, is where the player needs to go during this part of the game.

Once the player goes to the main office in the Banner, a small cutscene plays. It shows street lights going on near Mr. Peterson's old house, which indicates that it is where the player needs to go next. Once they are at the Peterson house, the player needs to gain access into the basement, which involves sneaking around Nielsen, the AI (who mainly stays in the living room where the basement is). The player can use multiple distractions to sneak past this AI, such as sounding his car alarm or ringing a wind chime. To get in the basement door, hold E (or whatever the player’s action key is set to) to open the door. It takes a bit.

The AI of each character in this game (excluding Skipper the dog) has basic do's and don't's. First, if the player is in the same room as the AI, or in the room next to the AI, they must make sure to be crouching when moving. The AI can hear the player’s footsteps when walking or sprinting near them, and will turn to the player’s direction if they move while not crouching. It's better to circumvent the AI's navigation pattern. What this means, is that if the player uses a wind chime to alert Nielsen to the kitchen exit, it is better for them to go and sprint back to the front door and into the living room rather than looking for a closet. By doing this, the player is separated from the AI. Now in a separate room, there is less of a chance for the player to be seen or heard.
