Hello Neighbor 2: Patch 9 is a free update that became available for Hello Neighbor 2 for Halloween 2023. A new Act has been added to the game with this patch.

What's New?

Mechanics

This patch introduces several new mechanics, which are important to know in order to complete.

Construction from boards

There is a hammer and planks in the game, and if you take them, you can attach the plank anywhere, taking the hammer in your hands. So, if you nail the plank to the floor, you can then build a bridge or something else.

Boarding up doors

If you nail a board to any door, The Guest will break into it and after about 2 seconds will knock out one board. The player can easily open the boarded door. But if the Guest breaks for a long time, he will think of entering the room through a hole in the ceiling, if there is one.

Towers of boxes

The old mechanic from Hello Neighbor has returned - towers made of boxes. If you stand on a box and place boxes under yourself while jumping, you can stand on such a tower. However, it will be very fragile and you can't place too many boxes. This way you can climb somewhere without a hammer and boards.

Trivia

  • TinyBuild did not say that Patch 9 is Act 2, but it's listed as Act 2 in the game files.
  • The update's second name, Hello Neighbor 2: Hello Guest, is a reference to the very first concept of Hello Neighbor 2, Hello Guest (or Late Night Shift). This is not accidental, because the update is focused on the Guest, which is similar to Hello Guest Prototype and Hello Guest Alpha 1
  • In one of the coffin's, you can find Man In The Hat laying inside, who originally appears in Hello Guest Alpha 1 and was planned to return in Hello Neighbor 2.
  • In Patch 9: Hotfix 4, near the Church, another coffin appeared with coffee cups on top, and there is a newspaper with Beatrix, one of the protagonists from Hello Guest Alpha 1. The newspaper is also in Wayron Croobian, but when translated, it says "Still no word the missing girl. "We were just playing hide and seek with Beatrix," says her brother Q-".
  • The part when we dig up a grave may be a reference to the first part, where we also found a shovel and dug it up (more like Alpha 1 than the release).
