The Copper Key is an important object in the Prototype, Pre-Alpha, and Alpha 1 and a useless object in Alpha 2 of Hello Neighbor.

Description

It looks like a rusty copper key with three beards. The key is required to unlock the copper lock on the basement door. The basement is the main goal of each version of the game, so the copper key is one of the important objects for the passage of Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1. Instead of using the copper key to open the copper lock, you can use the lockpick. In Alpha 2 and later versions of the game, the copper key and copper lock was replaced by the keycard and keycard terminal. In Pre-Alpha, to open the copper lock, you must have the key in your inventory. It is necessary to clamp LMB by moving the cursor over the lock. A green download bar will appear in the upper left corner of the screen. When the download reaches the end, the lock will disappear. After that, the door can be safely opened by pressing the E key on it. In Alpha 1, a lock is easier to open. You just need to click the lock on the lock with the key. The lock will fall out of the door.
